On the scale economy and knowledge alliance in higher institution

对1995年以来我国高等学校的规模经济状况进行实证分析的结果表明,随着高校规模的急剧扩大,高等学校已逐渐由规模经济过渡为规模不经济。在此条件下,过分追求高校规模的扩大并非一种理性的选择,建立高等学校的知识联盟则是一种较好的制度安排。

The result of empirical analysis on the scale economic situations of our country since 1995, shows that, with the extreme enlargement of the scale of higher education institution, the higher education institution has already been uneconomical for scale by the transition of the scale economy gradually. Under this condition, it is not a reasonable choice to pursue excessively the enlargement of higher education institute. At the same time, it is a kind of better system arrangement to set up the knowledge alliance of higher education institutions.
