生物医学图像信息技术是将生物医学和计算机技术结合进行研究的边缘学科 ,它是医学信息学中的一个分支 ,它围绕生物体通过不同光源应用不同的设备所呈现的各类图像 ,通过现代信息处理技术收集、整理、储存、分析、检索、传播和利用这些信息。生物医学图像信息技术包括生物医学图像成像技术、生物医学图像处理技术、生物医学图像分析技术、生物医学图像管理技术和生物医学图像传输技术。

Biomedical image information technology is a frontier branches of science which combines biomedicine and computer technology.It is a banch of medical informatics. Focusing on various images presented by orgnism using different light sources and different devices,it collects ,sorts, depots, analysis, retrieves , spreads and utilizes these informations through modern information processing technique. Biomedical image information technology is consisted of biomedical image formation technique, biomedical image processing technique, biomedical image analysis technique , biomedical image managing technique and biomedical image transmission technique.
