摘要
广东省于１９９０—１９９２年进行了华南虎及其栖息地调查。通过现场虎迹与访问等调查方法，确认广东省华南虎现存数量为６—８只，主要分布于粤北山地林区。本文介绍了华南虎生物学习性，提出南岭中段山地林区是华南虎现今分布的中心地带，并有较理想的栖息地。阐明了实施“华南虎保护工程”的必要性和重要意义。
Abstract South China tigers and their habitats had been investigated by Looking for the tigers traces and visiting local hunters during 1990-1992.It was confirmed that there are about 6-8 tigers nowadays,which mainly exist in the mountains forest in northern Guangdong Province.The paper introduced the tigers'biological habits and their main distribution,which is also an ideal habitat in mountainous forest in the middle of Naming Mountains.At Last, the necessity and im.portance of enforcementing the Project of Conservation of South Chads tigers were stated.
