为适应上海国际航运中心和国际大都市建设的需要,建设中的上海海事大学必须审时度势,准确定位。整体搬迁后的上海海事大学其发展要服务于地方经济建设,办学以本科生教育为主,逐步扩大研究生教育。目标为2020年办成世界高水平的海事大学。

To keep the pace with the goal of making Shanghai an international shipping center and of making Shanghai an international metropolitan city, Shanghai Maritime University, who is still under construction, must analyze the situation and clearly know her position. The development of Shanghai Maritime University should serve the local economy, base on undergraduate education and gradually expand postgraduate education with the aim of making a high-level maritime university in the world before the year of 2020.
