Honesty is a fundamental moral principle and a code of behavior commensurate to modern market economy. This paper presents an analysis of the causes and dangers of the lack of honesty in Chinas economic transition and discusses the role and approach that institutions of higher education should adopt in the rebuilding of social credit.
