扬州清曲中有雅词的特点。究其原因,除文人参与外,是扬州的文化背景和艺人的艺术修养造就了部分清曲艺人的雅化,以及当时扬州上层社会娱乐活动组织者的审美取向决定了雅化。这使扬州清曲一方面超越了低俗、鄙俚的层面;另一方面超越了清曲的地域性局限。

Meanwhile, the aesthetic orientation of entertainment organizers from upper class in Yangzhou at that time promoted the application of elegant words. Under the circumstances, Yangzhou ditty exceeded the vulgarism and oversteped its regional limitations.
