AbstractWith the direction and help of Prof. Paula L, Stillman, West China University of Medical Sciences trained 3 standardized patients (SP) and has been using them to teach students the course-male genitalia examination. SP plays role both of patient and instructor simitaniously. The information feedback from the students shows that most of students consider this teaching method effective and helpful. Some factors that influence SPs'work altitude are discussed and some experience of improving SPs'teaching ability are intruduced. Our conclution is that. teaching students the course-male genitalia examination with SPs is valuable and needs further study.
