The article carried on the summary to the current situation of the water resource of the Northwest in China.Then,it got more exhaustive explain at water resource with in all sorts of problem existing,for example,soil erosion,river blanking,water quality serious pollution,irrigation water to agriculture wasting,etc.It analyzed the causes of the existing problems of water resource from the natural,unnatural factor.Finally,discussed the sustainable approaches to development of the water resource in the Northwest.
