摘要
就如何做好英语阅读, 语言学家以及专家们著文不少, 但少有论及长句以及难句的阅读。本文从文体学和句法学的角度分析了长句和难句存在的必然性,通过大量的例句说明长句难句之所以造成阅读困难是因为常见的语法成分被分断开, 而逗号以及插入语的使用使分断成为可能。掌握这一特点就能悟出一个可以使这些长句难句在阅读中变得容易一些的技巧:学会辨认这种类型的逗号以及插入语。
It is never too much to stress how important reading is for students learning English as a foreign language. Many language teachers and experts have put forward their suggestions, advice, or papers on this issue: how to make students efficient readers. This paper, however, examines reading in a specific field of long and complicated sentences in English reading and cites ample examples to illustrate a practical skill: learning to recognize either commas or insertions that separate different sentence elements in order to realize an easier reading.
