This article attempts at an new analysis of Xiao Gong-quan's study of history of Chinese political thought.According to the principle of'making a detailed account on what be omitted or briefly mentioned and or so',we throw lights on the background and his motives?methods and its origins for the writing of A History of Chinese Political Thought,and analyze repercussions in academic circle evoked by the book,on the basis of preceding researches and the'text'and 'context'of A History of Chinese Political Thought.
