On Government Functionaries’ Outlooks of Honor and Disgrace from the Perspective of Arduous Struggle

荣辱观是人们关于光荣与耻辱的一种道德评价标准。艰苦奋斗是劳动人民固有的优良道德品质,是我党的优良传统,然而由于多种原因,在当代公务员中,艰苦奋斗荣辱观被扭曲,他们视艰苦奋斗为耻,以奢侈浪费为荣,使艰苦奋斗意识淡化,奢侈浪费之风盛行。为了全面建设小康社会,要吸取历史的经验教训,把被扭曲了艰苦奋斗荣辱观重新扭转过来。

The outlook of honor and disgrace is a moral evaluating standard of honor and disgrace. Arduous struggle is an intrinsic moral quality of Chinese working people and a fine tradition of the CPC; However, the outlook is distorted by some government functionaries. They regard arduous struggle disgraceful and luxury and expenditure honorable. The sense of arduous struggle is weakened. The situation prevails among them. In order to build an overall well-off society, we should learn a lesson from history and rectify the mistaken views toward arduous struggle.
