笔记小说实际上是一种具有中国特色的文言微篇小说。唐代以后的笔记小说非常发达,最有代表性的是《太平广记》、《聊斋志异》和《阅微草堂笔记》,它们在思想内容和艺术创作上各具特色,体现了文言微篇小说的独特魅力。

Literary sketches is actually a kind of mini classical Chinese stories with typical Chinese Characteristics. It developed very quickly after Tang dynasty with its most representative works such as Strange Tales from Make-Do Studio, Records of the Taiping Era, Literary sketches from Yuewei Cottage. These works have some distinguishing features separately in ideological content and artistic creation. They reflect the unique charm of mini classical Chinese stories.
