Space perception concerns the cognitive process and perspective structure wh e n an object is observed. It also involves successive transformations of signal s with respect to different reference systems. Moving-ego and moving-time pe rs pectives are similar to 'global' and 'local' perspectives. The visual inpu t is encoded in terms of retinal coordinates. The retinocentric values from each e ye are required to be unified, and to be combined with signals for eye position and movement to from the geocentric signals. The geocentric signals are fu rther transformed into a coordinate three-dimension system -the geocentric fra me of reference. The neural outputs of the visual system are geocentric signals.
