英汉V-R结构与非宾格现象

V-R construction and unaccusative hypothesis in English and Chinese,

非宾语理论把不及物动词分为非宾语动词和非作格动词 (unergativeverb)。英语V R结构是区分英语非宾格动词与非作格动词的标准之一 ,这已成为许多语言学家的共识。本文通过比较英汉V R结构的句法形式和语义表述 ,认为尽管在这两方面 ,汉语比英语表现出更为复杂的现象 ,但是汉语V R结构也可以区分汉语的非宾格与非作格动词。

According to the unaccusative hypothesis, intransitives fall into two classes: unaccusative verb and unergative verb. It has been accepted by many linguists that the English V_R construction is one of the effective ways to distinguish unaccusative and unergative verbs. In this thesis, comparing the syntactic form and the semantic representation of English and Chinese V_R constructions, we conclude that the Chinese V_R construction can also be used to differentiate Chinese unaccusative and unergative verbs.
