Due to the complicated international situation after the war of 1870 -1871, the accumulation of a series of mistakes in Germany's diplomacy and France's ingenious diplomatic means, a diplomatic fiction between Germany and France in 1875 eventually developed into an extensive international political crisis. This paper tentatively reviews the background of the crisis, the responses of some great European powers and the consequences it has caused.
