李大钊认为,社会主义不仅不排斥民主,而且要发展民主,它在精神上与德谟克拉西是相同的;自由与秩序是相辅相成的;无产阶级专政是实现“纯正的平民主义,’即“真正的工人政治”的必经阶段。文章对李大钊社会主义民主观的科学性、合理性及思想价值给予了充分肯定。

Li Dazhao believed that socialism does not exclude democracy, instead it develops democracy and it is the same with Democracy in spirit; freedom and order are inseparably interconnected; the proletarian dictatorship is the inevitable road to the 'pure plebeianism' i. e. the 'true politics of the workers'. This article fully confirms the scientificalness, rationality and ideological value of Li's conception of socialist democracy.
