20世纪的最后一年，我省国民经济发生了积极的变化，大多数宏观经济指标趋好，形成了整体回升的局面。这标志着我们已经克服了亚洲金融危机带来的困难，基本摆脱了近几年增长速度下滑的局面，国民经济发展出现了重要转机。全年宏观调控预期目标如期实现，“九五”计划主要任务全面完成，为实现“十五”计划奠定了坚实的基础。

In the last year of the 20th century,the national economy of Henan Province had some positive changes.Most of the indicators were positive.On the whole,the economy was up.This economic situation shows that we have overcome the difficulties brought by Asia Finance Crisis,and disencumbered from the economy slow－down in recent years.In a word,the economy turned positively in the last year.The objects of macroscopic economy control accomplished as scheduled.And the main tasks of “the Ninth Five－year Scheme”were carried out totally.The achievements are firm foundation stoned of the “the Tenth Five－year”Scheme.
