东夷族是中国最古老的民族之一，他们发祥于山东半岛，与当时的中原华夏族、南方苗蛮族鼎足而立。东夷族曾创造出灿烂的史前文化，后来在夏、商王朝的镇压下人口锐减、文化退步。西周初期东夷文化并入了齐文化而再度辉煌。齐文化作为我国先秦文化的主流又引领了中华民族传统文化的整体进步。本文即探讨东夷文化的历史沿革。

Dong Yi nation is one of the oldest nations in China. It originated in Shandong Peninsula and formed a situation of tripartite confrontation with the other two nations-Huaxia nation in the middle and Miao Man nation in the southat that time. DongYi nation had ever created splendid pre- history culture. Later the population of Dong Yi nation reduced and its culture declined under the repression of Xia and Shand dynasties. Early in the Western Zhou Dynasty, the culture of DongYi became splendid again for merging into the culture of Qi, which, as the main part of pre-Qin culture, led an important role in the advance of traditional Chinese culture. The evolution of Dong Yi culture is Studied in this paper.
