DISCUSSION ABOUT PU DIAN-JUN'S ART OF CALLIGRAPHY

蒲殿俊是保路运动的重要领导人之一，他精湛 的书法艺术一直为其政治声名所掩。蒲殿俊的书法艺术以赵孟瞓、 董其昌为基，融入北碑刚 劲的笔姿，加之其深厚的文化底蕴，形成了流美劲健、朴拙雅致的书法风格，在民国时期的 书法家群体中独树一帜，影响深广。对于蒲殿俊书法艺术的研究是近年来的事情，他对于我 们全面认识蒲殿俊这一历史人物以及全面研究民国时期的书法艺术与四川地域性书风的形成 与发展过程都有着十分重要的意义。特别是研究蒲殿俊的书法艺术，对于我们全面认识赵孟 瞓起到了积极的桥梁作用。

Pu Dian-jun was one of key leaders of the road-pr otection campaign and his fine art of calligraphy has been hidden by his politic al prestige.His art of calligraphy was based on that of Zhao Meng-fu and Dong Q i-chang and integrated into the firm and powerful style of the northern tablet, plus his profound cultural knowtledge formed his flowing firm powerful but naive refined style of calligraphy which flew his own colours among the body of calli graphers during the period of republic and which influence was far and wide.Stud y for his art of calligraphy is only in recent years.This is of great significan ce for us to understand the historical person and study all-roundly the formati o n and development of the art of calligraphy and Sichuan regional style during th is period.Espeially this is an active bridge for us to know Zhao Meng-fu perfec tly.
