金圣叹《西厢记》戏曲人物论批评

Jin Sheng-tan’s Critical Theory on the Drama Characters in XI XIANG JI

金圣叹在《西厢记》批评中，非常重视人物形象与构成，并具体地提出了刻画人物性格的心（人物心理）、地（人物的社会地位）、体（人物间的关系）概念及其作用，规定了运用三要素刻画人物性格的具体方向。为了突出人物性格，金圣叹还主张明确区分主角和配角的作用，强调人物的感情和景物的密切联系等。

Jin Shengtan had attached importance on the constitution of the charac ters＇ images in his comments of XI XIANG JI, and he created the concepts that reveals the characters＇ dispositions, such as , mind( the character＇s psychological mood),position(the character＇s social position),form(the relation between the characters), as well as stated the role of these concepts, defined the direction of portraying the characters＇ disposition . He also expressed the idea of disti n guish the different roles of leading characters and supporting characters, and e mphasized the close connection between the characters＇ feelings and their surroundings.
