苏州租界界址由来考辨

Textual Criticism for the Process of Fixing the Addressof Soochow Concession

中日甲午战争后，苏州设立租界，开埠通商。苏州租界界址的由来主要记载于《中国租界史》和《苏州市志》。然而，这两处记载都过于简略，乃至有不确之处。本文主要根据《张之洞全集》对苏州租界界址的确立过程重新加以考证，厘清了五道基本步骤，并尽力校正相关作品中的失误。苏州租界界址是晚清官员和日本侵略者既斗争又妥协的结果，这正是甲午战争后中日关系的缩影。

Abstract: After the Sino-Japanese War in 1895,Soochow began to fix concession,open and trade with foreigners. The process of fixing the address of Soochow Concession was mainly wrote in The History of Chinese Concession and Annals of Soo-chow City. But both of them are too brief, even if have some mistakes. Mainly according to Zhang Zhulong Works, this thesis makes textual research in the process of fixing address of this concession, to make out five processes, to correct the mistakes in those related books. The address' fixing is the result of conflicting and compromising between China and Japan. It is the reflection of the relation between China and Japan after the Sino-Japanese War in 1895.
