《诗·七月》“于耜,于貉,于茅”之“于”

THE WORD“YU(于)”OF “YU SI(于耜),YU HE(于貉),YU MAO(于茅)”IN THE BOOK OF SONGS(诗经)

《诗经·豳风·七月》“三之日于耜”“一之日于貉”“昼尔于茅”等诗句中“于”字,古今有“於”“往”“为”“取”“在”“动词词头”等多种解释。结合诗义、诗境分析“于”字的意义和用法等,我们认为“于”是动词,训为“往”是正确的。

About the word “Yu(于)”in the sentences of “San zhi ri yu si(三之日于耜)” “Yi zhi ri yu he(一之日于貉)”“Zhou er yu mao(昼尔于茅)”, which are from the poem named July(七月) in The Book of Songs(诗经), there are many different explanations such as “Yu(於)”,“Wang(往)”,“Wei(为)”,“take”, “at”, “prefixes” in all ages. According to the meaning and circumstance of poems, this paper thinks the word “Yu(于)” is a verb after analysing its meaning and usage.It is right to be explained as“Wang(往)”.
