Research Report on the Wrongly-Defined Entries in A Complete Dictionary of the Chinese Language

《汉语大词典》是目前国内最大的一部历史性、民族性的大型汉语词典。它在释义方面存在着大量的"硬伤"和一般性释义失误。通过资料积累调查和抽样调查两种方法,对它的失误词目进行初步测估,发现它失误的词目当在1万条以上。这些失误严重影响了它的总体质量,并在一定程度上对读者产生一些误导作用。因此,发现并纠正这些释义错误,将是以后《汉语大词典》修订的一个核心任务。

A Complete Dictionary of the Chinese Language,though a full-length dictionary of the Chinese language at present, has still included a great number of 'blunders' and common mistakes in its definitions. Through investigations of both the accumulated materials and sampling, it is initially estimated that the number of its wrongly-defined entries top over 10,000, thus jeopardizing its total authority and exerting a misleading impact on the reader to certain extent. It is, therefore, the key task to discover and rectify these mistakes in definition for its future revision.
