Analysis of Chiang Kai- shek's Zeal to Dispatch Army in the Korean War

朝鲜战争期间,蒋介石屡屡“请缨”出兵协助美国作战。从表面上看是为了响应联合国安理会的号召,接受联合国军司令的“助战邀请”,同时也是出于道义责任支持南韩。然而其更深层的原因则是为了争取美援,反攻大陆,提高其国际地位。

Chiang Kai- shek showed his zeal many times to dispatch army to as sist the U.S. army in the Korean war. It seemed that he was responding to the ca ll of the UN Security Council and the invitation of the UN army commander, and t hat he was supporting South Korea for 'righteousness'. However, we hold that a m ore important cause for all these was that he aimed at the chances for more aids from the U.S., the reoccupation of the mainland, and the advancement of his int ernational status.
