The main types and application methods of fluorescent brightener used for polyester fiber were introduced in brief. And the additive synergism of built up multi-component fluorescent brightener for polyester fiber was confirmed through several examples. The production situation of fluorescent brightener for polyester fiber in China was described simply, and some main producers and their products were listed, and their development prospect was forecasted. Finally, suggestions such as thinking highly of study on additive synergism, paying attention to develop important products, attaching importance to research work and making technical improvement of intermediates and so on were put forward.
