The Influence of Seed Difference on Early Growth and Grain Yield of Maize

本试验结果表明,玉米株间差异与种子差异有密切关系.粒度中等偏大的种子田间出苗率、幼苗初期生长以及苗期整齐度都优于粒度过大或过小的种子.在生产上必须淘汰粒度过大和过小的种子,以保持种子的整齐度.此外,使用纯度低的杂交种导致个体间差异过大,出现较多低产个体,造成减产.

The results showed that the variation from plant to plant was largely determined by the difference in seeds. We found that rate of field emergence,early seedling growth and even seedling of medium-size seeds were better than those of larger or smaller seeds. In production,exceeding both the large and small seeds should be picked out in order to secure uniform seeds. Moreover,the purity of hybrid seeds had a significant effect on plant difference and grain yield.
