美国所谓的战略重心东移其实质就是,先期遏制,围堵中国。因为在美国人看来,与其让中国在本世纪中叶成为美国强大的竞争对手,不如及早对中国进行挤压封堵。

Though entering the 21st century, American strategists are still cherishing the out-of-date cold war thinking, regarding China as its major threat and rival, making great efforts to push forward the defense strategic transition of the federal government. Judged from the recent published defense report, people can see that the essence of the so-called 'American strategic eastward shift' is to close in and contain China. Americans would rather contain China than allow China to grow into a powerful competitive rival against the US by mid-century.
