叶德辉是湘学中的重要学者,《书林清话》是他在目录版本学方面的代表作,有重要的文献学价值,该书汇辑了宋代以来历代私家藏书的目录,并对唐宋以来历代的刻板刻书情况进了资料整理和研究,取得了很大成就。
Ye De-hui is an important scholar of HuXiao School. He published a famous work named the Stories of Many Books. He studied many problems about the bibliography and the studies of edition from the private library catalogue of Song Dynasty to the private library catalogue of Qing Dynasty in this book. He researched the block-printed edition and the block-printed books from Tang Dynasty to Qing Dynasty, He made a great progress in his work.
