Cerebellar Tonsil Resection Treating Chiari Malformation with Syringomyelia

目的探讨切除小脑扁桃体治疗Chiari畸形合并脊髓空洞的疗效。方法对21例Chiari畸形合并脊髓空洞的病人采用切除下疝的小脑扁桃体。结果随访复查17例病人中,MRI均显示枕大池重新形成,脊髓空洞明显缩小,其中3例消失。结论小脑扁桃体切除是治疗Chiari畸形合并脊髓空洞症的有效方法。

Objective To study the effect of cerebellar tonsil resection for Chiari malformation with syringomyelia. Methods Twenty-one cases of Chiari malformation with syrin gomyelia were treated with operation. After opening of the dura, the cerebellar tonsils were removed. Results 17 patients were followed up. Postoperative MRI revealed cistern magna enlarged, the size of the spinal cavity decreased in all cases, disappeared in 3 cases. Conclusions Tonsillectomy is an effective method on the treatment of Chiari malformation with syringomyelia.[
