Personal Views on an Abstemious Society

随着过度的非法开采和大量的浪费,我国的自然资源已经越来越难以满足社会经济发展的要求,并已成为我们必须严肃面对的事实。因此,建立节约型社会迫在眉睫。它既是对中华民族勤俭节约美德的继承,又符合中国现阶段的国情,是缓解我国资源短缺的有效途径,对全面建设小康社会和整个人类社会的发展将产生深远的影响。

The illegal exploitation and over-use of the natural resources in our country has led to its shortage and fail to meet the needs of our future economic development, which is now a fact we should face seriously. The construction of an abstemious society is on the schedule. It is the inheritance of our nation's good virtue that is in accordance with our present situation. And it will be the most effective way to solve the shortage and have deep influence on our construction of a well-off society as well as the development of the whole human society.
