Tentative Study on English Translation of Agricultural Terminology

针对中国市场越来越需要既懂英语又懂农业专业的复合型人才,结合自身多年涉猎农业英语翻译的实践经历,就农业专业术语翻译的难点以及翻译原则、技巧作了较为系统的阐述与探讨,并就如何成为一名称职的农业专业英语译员提出了个人的见解。

As the international cooperation in agriculture fields occurs high frequently nowadays, China needs more and more 'compound type' elites of English translation proficient both in agricultural and English knowledge. The author, who combined with her own work experience for many years in the field of foreign aid agricultural project management and translation, offers audience in this paper a tentative research and comparatively systematic description of the constraints, basic principles and skills in English translation of agricultural terminology. She also presents her personal outlook on assessment criteria of a qualified agricultural translator.
