On the Reasons of the United Kingdom’s Return to Europe

英国积极地为回归欧洲铺平道路,希望通过领导欧洲,进而影响世界。英国重返欧洲是内外因素共同作用的结果:美国已经不再是值得充分信任的盟友,作为欧盟核心的德法两国迫切需要英国共同参与欧洲建设,而实力有限的英国又急于通过欧洲来实现世界强国之梦。在这三方面的综合作用下,英国政府今后将放弃原先摇摆不定的欧洲政策,不再对欧洲若即若离,而是沿着重返欧洲之路坚定地走下去。

The United Kingdom is now preparing for its return to Europe, with the hope of playing a leading role in Europe and in the whole world as well. The return is due to three reasons. First, U.S.A is not an reliable friend any more. Second, France and German, as the core of European Union, are deadly in need of the help from the U.K in the European construction area. Third, by utilizing the power of the EU, UK can fulfill its dream of being a powerful country in the world. So, in the future, the U.K. government will give up its unstable European policy and play a more active role in Europe.
