在整个传播学研究中,期刊经常被忽视,即便对于具有着悠久的媒体和传播学研究传统的德国也不例外,尤为突出的现象是,期刊研究似乎始终处于报纸研究的阴影之下。不过,不可否认的是,正是在这一领域,德国却开了历史先河:不仅出现过专门从事期刊研究的学术机构和相关刊物,甚至创建了一个独立的期刊学学科。而这一切却发生在希特勒纳粹独裁时代。另外一个独特的现象就是,期刊作为研究对象一直深受硕士生和博士生的欢迎。

In the whole communication research magazine has been often ignored. Germany with a long history of media and communication research is not an exception, either. A very obvious phenomenon is that magazine research seems to lie in the shadow of newspaper research. However, one can not deny that just in this research field Germany has played a vanguard role: there have been some academic institutions and periodicals that were engaged in magazine research, even an independent “magazine science” was established. All of these occurred in the era of Hitler’s Nazi dictatorship. Another unique phenomenon is that as a research object magazine has been very popular with master and doctor students.
