华盛顿大学设计专项组选择研究问题的标准是:必须是在尺度上和范围上都具有一定份量;区位和主题的选择必须在环境保护和规划方面具有现实意义;赞助商必须是以非赢利性的目的来进行合作的。其工作组织方法、提高设计工作效率、鼓励与组织市民参与等方面的经验给我国高校参与城市设计工作提供了有益的启示。

The criterion for selection of study subjectsby the special design team of Washington University isas follows:the subjects must be of certain significancein terms of scale and scope,the selection of geographiclocation and theme must be of practical significance inenvironmental protection and planning,and the sponsorsshould cooperate in a nonprofit manner. Higher educa-tional institutions in our country can draw inspirationfrom their experience in work organization,improvementof the efficiency in design and encouragement of par-ticipation by citizens in the participation in city de-sign work.[
