The goal of the planning and design ofriverside landscape of Shanghai World Expo Gar-den is'creating a characterized riversidelandscape'.Following the principle of'Three ElementTheory'in planning design of landscape,and takinginto consideration the characteristics of change oftides twice a day and the wide water surface ofthe Huangpu River, the writer puts forwards a plan-ning idea from three aspects of visual landscapeimage,mass behavioral psychology,and natural en-vironmental landscaping,etc.
