摘要
This paper holds that the “thing” in historical materialism is neither the thing of an material conception, nor an invariable and concrete practical existence. It is a dynamic historical existence, relation existence, social existence or the totality or collectivity of what Engels called material. What is more, the thing is the totality of the object existence and its relations which “we are faced with” and constitutes the objects we try to know in practice. According to the researches, Hiromatsu reveals that Marx and Engels started to turn their attention to the man in reality and the practical life. The objective material existence relative to the man in reality was regarded as a starting point and the basis of their theories. According to Hiromatsu, historical materialism has fulfilled the historical task in criticizing the reality of capitalism, and it is exactly the historical dialectics about inter subjectivity history and the functional relation which constitutes the common social practice. This “Field” is what we call “the ‘reality’ as the starting point of all the jobs”.
