Breeding and Utilization of Hybrid Rice Restorer Line Gui 99

恢复系桂 99系采用栽野杂交中间材料为母本 ,以恢复力强 ,并抗稻瘟病多种生理小种的材料为父本进行杂交即优良基因聚合的技术路线选育而成。用其与珍汕 97A配制的组合汕优桂 99,1990～ 1993年累计推广 2 0 93.0 8万亩 ,获得了较好的经济效益和社会效益。

Developing new hybrid rice combinations by breeding of new restorer lines crossed with present male-sterile lines has been a very effective approach in hybrid rice breeding. This paper emphatically introduced the adopted technical approach and process for development of a new restorer line Gui 99, and the efficiency of utilizaton of the new combination Shanyou Gui 99 developed from Gui 99 by Guangxi Rice Research Institute. Shanyou Gui 99 was identified and approved by the provincial authority concerned in 1989. Its planting area in Guangxi, Guangdong, Hunan and Jiangxi provinces amounted to about 1.4 mil. ha during the years 1990 to 1993. It was awarded the 1st class prize of Guangxi Scientific and Technical Progress in 1992 and the 3rd class prize of the National Scientific and Technical Progress in 1993.
