The career of Xia Yan covers several fields,such as drama,film,editorial,essay,informal essay,reportage,news report,novel and translation.His writings adopt various forms while the content keeps close relation with the time,concerning with the nation's destiny.As far as the creative method is concerned,with a realistic inclination he is willing to explore and innovate,forming his own style of succinct,simple and tasteful.His character of being both an intellectual and revolutionist is the interior drive of his artistic glamour.
