Over the last decade, the number of Asian students heading to Australia for their tertiary education has almost doubled. The challenge for Australian legal educators is to design and deliver courses that allow these students to maximise the benefits and relevance of these studies, as well as equipping them to deal with the complex legal problems associated with globalisation. This will involve a multi-disciplinary and international approach to the range of subjects offered. In this article, we discuss some of these challenges and set out the experiences from two case studies about the educative process, problems and innovation from an educator's perspective in teaching 'the law' to Asian students.
