The landscape architecture planning and design in China is in the contradiction of globalization with region- alism, and tradition with modernization, and is facing the challenges from culture, technology and ecology. Under the background of globalization and the shock of modern civilization, the modern landscape architec- ture with Chinese features can be formed only when other cultures is understood with tolerant hearts and Chinese tradition and civilization are treated with strict minds.
