留美幼童对近代中国科技发展的历史影响

Historical Influence to Development of Sci.& Tech.in Modern China Made by Chinese Educationsl Mission Students in Qing Dynasty

近代中国首次大规模学习西方先进科技的幼童留美计划虽遭夭折,但在近代中国举步维艰的科 技现代化进程中,留美幼童仍然扮演了开路先锋的角色,发挥了十分重要的作用。本文考证了留美幼童回国 后的主要去向,系统考察了幼童群体对近代中国科技发展的主要贡献及其历史作用与影响。

Although the Chinese Educational Mission in Qing dynasty failed, which was studying advanced western science and technology on a large scale for the first time, those young students returned from America still acted as a pioneer and played a very important role during the period of China's science and technology modernization.This paper analyzed and investigated the main fields in which the young Chinese students served after come back from America, discovered the main contribution and influence to the development of science and technology they had made in modern China.
