Immigrants, Communities and Urban Planning

居住于多伦多的移民占加拿大移民总数的40％。本文分三个部分对多伦多地区的移民与多元文化、社区发展及城市规划间的动态关系进行讨论。本文第一部分将简要回顾加拿大二次大战后的移民政策如何在社会经济和文化万面,将多伦多从一个以欧洲民族为主的城市,转变为一个具有多元文化的城市区域,第二邵分将介绿加拿大作为第一个推出官万多元文化政策的国家,如何实现多元文化的和谐共存;面对移民的大量涌入和多元文化对城市发展的影响,如何建正和谐的多元文化社会,是本文第三部分讨论的内容。

This paper explores in three major sections the dynamic relationship between immigration, multiculturalism,community development and urban planning in the Toronto region, home to over40% of immigrants to Canada. The first section briefly documents how Canada's post World War Ⅱ immigration policies transform the social, economic and cultural landscapes of Toronto from a Euro-second section relays Canada as the first country with an official multicultural policy to facilitate the urban development in several ways. Some of the challenges to urban planning in Toronto are discussed in the third section.
