Making Efforts on a Full Operation of Diverting Water From Yangtze to Taihu Lake

近年来,太湖流域经济社会加速发展,水污染治理明显滞后,流域水质型缺水问题十分突出。通过全面实施引江济太生态调水,增加了流域水资源的有效供给,加快了太湖水体置换,促进了河网水体有序流动,增加了水环境容量,维护了流域河湖健康。引江济太生态调水是人水和谐理念及“两个转变”工作思路的生动实践。

Recent years, resource-oriented water shortage become obvious due to the ineffective pollution control along with fast development of economy and society in the Taihu Basin. The implementation of diverting water from the Yangtze River to the Taihu Lake increases the effective supply of water resources in the river basin and fastens the replacement of water bodies and orderly flowing of water bodies in river network and increases capacity of water environment that helps to sustain a healthy life of the river basin. The approach of ecological water diversion is a practical thinking for a harmonious development of human with the river and also embody the 'two transfers'.
