On reality-based educational ideology and its role in enhancing the beginning of modern education of foreign languages

晚清经世致用教育思想有其产生的学术依据、形成背景以及主要内容;经世致用教育思想对我国近代外语教的推进作用,主要表现在两大方面:舆论准备,洋务学堂的建立。

By sorting out the academic foundation, the formation background and the contents of reality-based educational ideology, this article discusses briefly the role of this educational mentality in enhancing the modern education of foreign languages in China, which manifests in two aspects: spiritual preparation and the establishment of modern government schools.
