Strategies Used in Dealing with New Words in Teaching Reading

阅读教学是英语教学一个重要的组成部分,而生词是学生在阅读中遇到的最突出的困难之一。针对运一现象,本文提出了处理生词时使用的六种策略。在阅读教学中,教师应训练并鼓励学生根据实际情况,自动选择、适当提取合适的策略来处理不同类型的生词,为顺利进行阅读提供一个基本保证。

Reading plays an important part in English teaching, and for most students, new word is one of the most difficult factors encountered in reading. Therefore, this paper proposes 6 strategies in dealing with new words. In teaching reading, teachers should train and encourage students to automatically select and properly employ appropriate strategies in dealing with different words, which will offer a guarantee for effective reading.
