警察战术学是一个运用军事战术方法研究警察执法战斗行动基本问题的学术门类与其他公安学(警察学)门类相比较,警察战术学研究对象超越了"实在法"的规范,更多地以相关战术、法律思想和军事战术学说为研究的直接对象,从中获得思考、处置执法战斗胜利的法宝,目的是构筑和探索警察战术学的理论问题因此,警察战术学的意义主要在于开启战术谋略心智,启蒙战术思想,提高警察战术主体的理论思维、实践应用能力。
