With the development of social information economy, how to provide more effective information service in libraries of colleges and universities is becoming librarians' concern. From the perspective of individualized information service, this paper discusses the important issues in information service, the necessity to provide individualized search as well as its forms and approaches in libraries of colleges and universities.
