The Living Space and Development Self-taught Exam and Higher Education Massification

随着中国高等教育大众化变革的日益深入,自学考试制度并不会必然丧失生存空间、遭遇发展危机。真正导致自学考试制度危机的是它本身一直存在的“普教化”倾向。因此,必须切实转变自学考试制度的质量观,摒弃其质量评价和运作方式上的“普教化”倾向,进而充分利用大众化时代高等教育的多样化特征和“宽进严出”原则,寻求和拓展自学考试制度的生存空间和发展机遇。

With the development of higher education massification, Chinese self-taught examination wouldn’t lose its living space and development opportunity. What really leads to crisis is the ‘being-general-higher-education’ tendency of self-taught exam. We must change the tradition quality ideas, get rid of the ‘being-general-higher-education’ tendency, and recur to the character of diversification and the principle of relax-enrollment and tight-graduation examination in the era of higher education massification, so as to expand the living space and search the development opportunity for self-taught exam.
