We propose a hardware design for an all-digital AC variable speed control system. Including four subsystems, DSP control subsystem, drive subsystem, power subsystem and information co-processing subsystem, the structured system is implemented by TMS320F240, which integrates a high computational DSP power with all necessary motor control peripherals into a single chip. We also present the detailed design for the four subsystems. The proposed system is adequate to implement a highly efficient and accurate AC induction drive control and easily to be extended with a transparent structure.
