人的本质是社会关系的总和,是诸多人性属性的根本,应当从“关系”来理解人的本质。马克思对人的本质的论述是从“自由自觉的活动”到“社会关系的总和”,这并不是后者对前者的否定,而是科学的进程,它首先研究人的一般本性,然后再研究每个时代历史地发生了变化的人的本性。劳动实践是人的本质存在的实在方式。

The essence of human beings is the sum total of social relations,and is the most ultimate attribute of human natures. We should understand it through the relations. Karl Marx discussed the essence of human beings from “freedom and self-conscious activity ”to“ the summation of social relations” and the latter doesn’t negate the former. That is a scientific process. Because the research method goes from common nature to changeable nature at a different era. Physical labour practice is the existence mode of human nature.
